Kraus, Dita - A Delayed Life

When Dita Kraus was just thirteen she and her family were sent to Auschwitz.  There she took on the huge, dangerous responsibility of becoming the secret librarian of the smallest library in the world - the camp library.  Into her care were placed twelve books that represented resistance and hope for her fellow prisoners in the face of unthinkable suffering.  Against all the odds, Dita survived the horrors of the camp and now writes with a starling clarity of a life delayed by the Holocaust and the astounding resilience of the human spirit.
